Nursing Staff

Nurses

We have 3 Practice Nurses who have clinics at both the main and branch surgeries. They provide appointments for the management of chronic diseases, such as asthma and diabetes. They carry our cervical smears, swabs, ECGs, and lung function testing. They also carry out vaccinations for travel, influenza and childhood vaccinations.

Healthcare Assistants

We have 1 Healthcare Assistance (HCA) who carry out health checks at both surgeries. They also do phlebotomy (blood) clinics at the surgery and visit the patients at home if they are housebound.

GP Assistant

We have 1 GP Assistant (GPA) who carry out health checks at both surgeries. They also do Phlebotomy clinics at the surgery and will visit patients at home if they are housebound. The GP Assistant, also assists the administration team, in processing the electronic documentation that we receive, ensuring it is coded correctly and is allocated if appropriate to one of our GPS.

Practice Team

Practice Management

Bernie Gildea is our Practice Manager. Bernie is involved in managing all the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. Bernie  supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

Reception

Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.
